Podcast 110: The Picture Book Podcast

This week, an interview with Picture Book. They're a Liverpool-based trio with a Faroese lead singer.

They played their first gigs in the Faroe Islands this summer, and we caught up with them after their performance at the G! Festival.

As always, you can listen on iTunes, on our media player above, or you can download the show directly here:

Note: We'll post the links to those Picture Book tracks here soon. Please check back.

Podcast 109: G! Festival 2011, Part 2. Budam, Hogni, and Marius

This week, more from this summer's G! Festival. We'll here some live music from Marius and Hogni, then and interview and performance from Budam (pictured above).

Marius and Hogni will be familiar to longtime listeners of the show, but this is Budam's first appearance on this podcast. He makes music that he calls "dramatic folk rock influenced by jazz... and things". You really just need to hear it. And you're in luck. This show contains a full song recorded during a private performance in July, and a little from Budam's live set at the G! Festival last July.

Also, if you scroll down to the previous post, we've got a bonus track from that performance.

As for the podcast itself, you can listen on iTunes, on our media player above, or download the show directly here:

Budam Bonus Batter

We'll be posting this week's podcast within the next 24 hours or so, but here's a little something to get you into the mood. The show will recap more highlights of the G! Festival, and feature an extended interview with Budam.

Last July, Budam gave a short, impromptu performance for a small group of international journalists. We feature one song on the podcast, but there's a second song seemed "too hot for the podcast" that we'll offer as a download here.

We're not joking about that designation, however. While the song doesn't contain any explicit language, it's overtly sexual in a way that may not be appropriate for small children... or people who just don't like songs on that subject.

With that in mind, here's a little Budam unplugged:

Podcast 108: G! Festival 2011, Part 1

This week, the first of our shows featuring sounds and stories from this year's G! Festival.

We start with a wrap of the acts that performed on Thursday. We've got live sound from Mirror Men, Sic, Movits! (video above... sorry about the sub-par audio), and Hamferd. And we've even got some HD video of their performances. Just scroll to the end of this post.

As always, you can listen on iTunes, on our media player above, or download the show directly here:

And now, enjoy the majesty of handheld video taken at the G! Festival:

Here's Mirror Men, the very first acts to take the stage this year:

Next up, Sic:

And finally, the doom metal stylings of Hamferd:

Podcast 107: Wales, Faroes, and FIFA. A Tale of Two Rankings

This week, we talk with Jakup Hansen. He's the Political Science student who discovered and publicized an error in the FIFA rankings that put the Faroe Islands National Team over Wales.

Then we beg you to vote for us.

As always, you can listen on our media player above, on iTunes, or you download the show at this address:

Voting Tutorial

Hello, all! We're up for a European Podcast Award, and we need your help. Basically, we need you to vote for us. But since the voting site is in Danish, we understand that could cause some problems for many of our listeners. With that in mind, here's the easiest way to vote for what I'm sure is your favorite podcast ever:

First go to:

From there, click on "vote." So far it's all pretty straightforward, but then it gets a little more confusing if you don't know Danish.

The next page has two sets of stars, the top one is for design, and the lower one is for content. Click as many stars as you wish (might we suggest five?) and then click on the small button below that says "Stem og vind!"

Once you've done that, you're good to go. There will be a field on the next page asking for an email address, but you don't have to use it.

You're only allowed to vote once from each IP address, so don't need to come back again and again.

Thanks for your support. Now let's go get us some awards!
