Podcast 306: Overtourism?

This week, we talk about tourism in the Faroe Islands, and the threat of overtourism in this small country keenly aware of the path Iceland took more than a decade ago. We'll drive to Saksun, which is a favorite of tourists, and talk about the changes this small village has seen over the past ten years. Then we'll give a short tutorial on how to drive on the Faroe Islands' notoriously narrow rural roads.

Podcast 305: From Soccer to Football, Darius Lewis Heads to the Faroes

On this week's show, we talk to Darius Lewis. He's a striker who played for the Philadelphia Union's academy team. But now he's done with being a soccer player and has moved on to playing football in the Faroe Islands. Turns out, that's not a huge adjustment because soccer in the USA and football in the Faroe Islands are the same sport.

But aside from that, there are other adjustments that are in store. We'll talk to Lewis about what brought him from Florida to signing a contract with KI Klaksvik.

Then we'll head underground and under the ocean to check on the progress of the subsea tunnel that will connect the greater Torshavn area with Runavik.

As always, you can listen on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher Smart Radio, Spotify, Google Play, and anywhere quality podcasts are given away for free. You can also hear the show on the media player in this post, or you can download the show directly here.
