Podcast 310: Closed for Maintenance

Credit: Visit Faroe Islands

This week, we talk about why some of the Faroe Islands' biggest tourist attractions were closed last weekend, and why 100 volunteers thought the best way to spend a vacation was to do free manual labor. We'll also talk about the threat of overtourism and how the Faroes is trying to balance tourism with preservation.

Then we visit a tiny village that nobody ever visits.

If you're interested in volunteering for next year's Closed for Maintenance weekend, you can get more information here.
