Podcast 331: Faroe Pride, Then and Now

In 2012, LGBT Foroyar organized a Pride march. They told people they were going to get 1,000 people on the streets of Torshavn to march for gay rights. If you turned off your microphone, organizers would admit they thought they'd get 1,000 people to attend, but 500 would also be a historic gathering.

Five THOUSAND people showed up, one tenth the population of the entire country, and history was made. The next year 6,000 people attended. Eventually, the Faroese parliament approved gay marriage in the Faroe Islands.

On this podcast we revisit that historic 2012 march and talk with Eiler Fagratlet about what has happened in the years since.
